Our History

McCormick & Schmick's dates its deep seeded roots back to 1974 and has a long reputation of being a company that serves great seafood, steaks, oysters, and beverages with outstanding service, in superior locations. We are well known for our Chef inspired food, award-winning happy hour, energetic bars, hand-crafted Mixology, and world-class private dining event spaces. The combination of an open imagination and a respect for tradition is what makes McCormick & Schmick's the classic and successful business that it is today.

The history of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants began with the purchase of Jake’s Famous Crawfish Restaurant located in Portland, Oregon, bringing the more than 100-year-old landmark back to life. Several years later, the original McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant opened, and since then, has grown to become the nation’s premier family of seafood restaurants.

Our Culinary & Mixology

Whether it’s Ahi Tuna sustainably caught using longline fishing methods on US Flagged Fishing Vessels, Open Blue Cobia open ocean raised in its natural habitat in the Caribbean Sea or all natural Salmon responsibly raised, our fish is guaranteed fresh. Our Oysters are harvested from proprietary oyster beds, restorative Oyster Farming focusing on bay preservation. Simply put they are premium and sustainable. 

Our Steaks are grain fed and aged to perfection, every time. Our menu offers dishes Chef-created to please a variety of palettes. We also offer cutting edge, state of the art mixology from fresh-squeezed, hand crafted cocktails to amazing table side creations sure to please. We have an unrelenting commitment to our Culinary and Mixology programs.

In 2012, McCormick & Schmick's became a part of the Landry’s, Inc. family, joining more than 400 locations nationwide, including restaurants, hotels, and entertainment centers.

While the number of restaurants has grown, the original vision remains in providing the freshest seafood, at a value, in a comfortable setting while providing extraordinary service. The continued emphasis on open imagination and a respect for tradition is what makes M&S the classic and successful business that it is today.
