The museum is located at a 1,500 year old Hohojam village ruins. For over 70 years the museum has been dedicated to the study and interpretation of the HohoKam culture. The park consists of 102 acres where visitors explore the ruins of an 800 year old platform mound thought to be used by the Hohokam for ceremonies. An excavated ballcourt and prehistoric Hohokam homes can be viewed along the ruin trail.
